MUSCARÒ 2015 GOLD MEDAL AT THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIC WINE AWARD
FOR THE 2017 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIC WINE AWARD, OUR MUSCARÒ 2015 WAS THE ONLY ITALIAN WINE TO RECEIVE A SCORE OF 100 POINTS.
It was a great satisfaction for us, when the first vintage of Muscarò, after years of experimentation, obtained such an important award worldwide.
The International Organic Wine Award is a competition for quality wines made from grapes grown with organic methods approved by the EU. Founded in 2009, it is appreciated for the transparency of its results and for the expertise of its jury.
The tasting, directed by sensory expert and PAR® developer Martin Darting, managed to gain this trust thanks to the PAR® evaluation system recognized all over the world. In fact, the tasting takes place according to international scientific knowledge on the characterization of wine as well as on the definition of quality; first of all based on the terroir, that is the origin, and no longer for the types or increasing values of alcohol or sugar.
The eighth round of one of the most significant organic wine competitions in the world took place from 30 June to 3 July 2017, organized by WINE System AG. The jury tasted 1094 organic wines from all over the world.
“With 163 wines presented, Italy was awarded 17 gold medals. But the only Italian wine that obtained a score of 100 points was the Muscarò 2015 from the Sicilian Winery Cossentino”.
